UNITED NATION WORLD HEALTH DAY- A new hope for heart patients.
Kanu Heart Foundation in commemoration of the United Nation World Health Day expands its tentacles in facilitating the indigent Nigeria Heart patients and other African countries get open heart surgery without much luxury.
In collaboration with Joe Nwiloh heart Centre, Adazi Nnukwu, in Anocha LGA of Anambra state, KHF brought in two doctors from Vikram Hospital PVT Ltd Bengalore, India- a reputable hospital KHF has been partnering for many years now to inspect the facilities at the centre and carryout open heart surgery.
The Doctors (Dr Rao Ajay and Venkataramanappa Narendra) after the inspection of the facilities at the Joe Nwiloh Heart Centre operated on one patient.
The Vikram hospital with KHF alongside JNHC have planned to carryout open heart surgery at the centre in July,2017. The Vikram Hospital will come with their equipment to ugment the facilities at the centre to enable them carryout more surgeries and complex cases.
The collaboration has brought about affordable prices for open heart surgery as it was highly subsidized.
Apart from been subsidized, the issue of foreign logistics like air-tickets, visa procurement, currency exchange rate etc has been eliminated as the surgery will be done in Nigeria by the expertise from Vikram Hospital and that of our Nigeria doctors.
Furthermore, Kanu Heart foundation is poised to help heart patients obtain open heart surgery free / in a highly subsidized rate while working assiduously towards building Kanu Nwankwo Cardiac specialist hospital where children from 12 years and below will be operated free upon completion.
